The Truth About My Absence

Dun - dun - duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Sounds so dramatic, I know. But it's pretty simple. And I'm a little embarrassed to admit it...

You might have noticed that me falling off the blogging cliff somewhat coincided with me switching jobs. Let's be honest here, my last job was cake. I was pretty much on auto-pilot. Could I have been doing more? Probably Totally. Was anyone noticing what I was doing, asking for a deliverable, or giving me assignments? No. To be honest, I spent a VERY LARGE portion of my time on facebook, reading blogs, and writing my own posts. It was so easy to pull pics from Facebook and my phone to whip up a quick post for the world to read.

But then one day, my picasa space was full (GASP!!) and I wasn't about to pay for more.  So I did some asking around and found that photobucket was the go-to for some of my blogging friends, and since I already had an account, that was the route I chose.  I started to notice that my work computer didn't like photobucket so much, so I had to usually put everything on there from my iPad, then put all of the links into the blog via my iPad, save the post, then go on the computer and format and write.  Such a huge pain in the ass.  I'm all about quick and efficient and this wasn't making blogging easy for me.

Fast forward to the new job.  Lot's to learn, lots to do, and lots of time-sensitive deliverables.  I was enjoying being busy, but not really enjoying the lack of time I had for blogging.  All social media sites are also blocked which is a blessing and a curse.  Helps with the time management, but leaves me with less time to cyber-stalk and keep up on the lives of people I never talk to....

I also can't access photobucket...

I don't have a lot of time outside of work with my schedule looking something like this on a daily basis:

6am 7am - Wake-up
9am - 5:30pm - Work
6:30 - 7:30pm - Crossfit
8pm - Dinner/shower/nurture marriage
10/10:30pm - Bed

On the weekends I am either out living life or maxin/relaxin at home and the thought of putting together a blog post seems like more work/time than I am willing to invest.  I mean, it's not like I don't have anything to blog about.  I could tell you about:

  • The most amazing, hopefully not once-in-a-lifetime vacation we took
  • My niece who is growing so fast!
  • My first exercise-related injury
  • Returning from the 6.5 weeks of workouts I missed due to vacation/injury
  • My obsession with Pitch Perfect/Skylar Astin
  • My impromptu, spur-of-the-moment trip to visit my Ravey-Poo
  • And the rest of our fun-filled summer
So if anyone has any suggestions for an easier way to host/post pics and write blogs that would be fantastic.  Otherwise I will be posting mostly words and no pics if I do post at all.

Also, I need a serious redesign around here, so suggestions are welcome on that as well.

Thanks!!

P.S. Use the button at the top right of my bloggity to follow me on bloglovin'.  You know, in case I do ever decide to write another blog post, you won't miss it.

Breezy Goes North - A Match Made in Blog Heaven, Part 3

Welcome back for our final installment of Breezy Goes North!! Can I get an AMEN??  If you missed parts 1 & 2, go check them out, I'll wait.

We left off with way too many adult beverages being consumed, leading to waking up with another slight hangover. This was the day we would head 3.5 hours back to Portland for another date night and a day of bumming around Portland before I had to head back to Sac.

After we got our bearings and got ready and packed, we hit the road. At this point there was no worry about filling another 3.5 hours of time with conversation because we felt like we had known each other for our entire lifetimes. We got checked into our fantasy suite room at the Marriott and hit up the concierge lounge for some apps to go with the cocktails we brought for the room. After more deep conversations, this time about religion, we headed out for a lovely dinner at Varitable Quandary, or VQ.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel bar for some more drinks and conversation.

And then this happened...

Raven joined Vine, so we had the waitress take a video of us taking more duck fart shots. Little did I know what Raven had planned. The timing of the video could not have been more perfect. I laugh so hard whenever I watch it. Simply amazing.

The next day we dragged our haggard asses out of bed and got read for our day of bumming around Portland. We had lunch at this amazing cafe and then walked from one end of town to the other in search of Voodoo Donuts. And donuts we did find.

After we returned from our trip to the donut shop, reality started sinking in that we only had a couple of hours left before my departure. We made our way back to the airport where we exchanged a magical hug and promises that it wouldn't be too long before we saw each other again. Since crying makes Ravey-poo uncomfortable, I waited until she was out of sight to shed a tear or two. It was so hard to leave this person I felt had become such a huge part of my life in such a short period of time.

As I relayed this story to my sister the other day, I told her "If I weren't married and this had been someone of the opposite sex, I would probably consider relocating my life to Tri-Cities." LOL! I have read about other bloggers' experiences with meeting each other, but never really understood what they felt until I experienced it for myself. I would love nothing more than to be just a short drive from Raven so we could share a cup of coffee or a cocktail on a regular basis. JB and I are going to try our hardest to make it back there for the boat races this summer, and supposedly Raven and Rob will be heading my way to visit a new baby in the family. All I know is our next meeting can't happen soon enough!

Breezy Goes North - A Match Made in Blog Heaven, Part 2

Day 2 (read day 1 here) in the Tri-Cities was nothing short of domestic bliss with these folks, minus Rob cuz he was fishing...

 photo fam_zps539a67f8.jpg

The guest room at the Smith Manor consists of a bed in a loft nook just outside of the bedroom doors of Raven's two angel babies. Even sleeping with my earplugs in, I was awakened by the shrill screams from Coltie in the middle of the night. Raven had warned me that if anyone woke up crying in the middle of the night, she would be there to take care of it, so not to worry. It still scared the shit out of me.

I awoke in the morning to Gunner hopping up on the bed asking me who I was. I informed him that I was a friend of his mother's and that he should go see her with any questions. I promptly dozed off, only to be interrupted a short while later by the same adorable child, this time in a towel, asking me to get up and come play race cars with him. How could I resist.

I headed downstairs to find Raven passed out in her bed with Coltie sitting next to her watching cartoons. She informed me that Colt had thrown up in his crib in the middle of the night and proceeded to puke a few more times in her bed after she brought him downstairs. Poor guy. He seemed to be fine that morning though, so all was well. As soon as she introduced me to him, he promptly climbed out of the bed and into my lap. Both kids took to me immediately, actually. It was pretty adorable.

 photo portland26_zps3c275e50.jpg

We took Gunner to school and then headed back home for a couple of hours to have breakfast and coffee, before returning to pick him up.

 photo 75840_4196635594575_660495913_n_zps33464e68.jpg

After we picked up G-Man, we ran a couple of errands, like returning a chicken costume to the party rental store, and dropping off a puke-covered duvet at the dry cleaners.

When we got back to the house, Raven showed me how to bring the garbage can up from the curb, lazy-chick style:

I knew I only had a small window of time to get my fitness on before we started our day drinking, so I showed the boys how to work it out.

 photo portland25_zps71726721.jpg

Once I got my workout out of the way, we put the boys down for their naps and I experienced some Dr. Phil with a cocktail, Raven-style.

Dude's in-laws tried to straight up kill him in their garage. That shit cray!

After a couple of hours of lounging, we decided to get off our asses and start getting ready. Raven was taking me to the country club for dinner, so I had to look legit. After the boys woke up from their nap, Mama Piper came over to get the boys so we could have date night. We enjoyed dinner at the country club, where Ravey-Poo photo lurked me in the bathroom.

 photo 11_zpsa7d8157d.jpg

Dinner was followed by a drink or two at a local bar. Pretty sure it was college night. The drinks were weak and the crowd was young, so we took our bad selves home to continue the party our way.

The rest of the night got a little fuzzy, but I think there was more trashy television and deep conversations before crashing out for the night.

Saturday we woke up slightly hungover. We stopped by her sister's house to drop something off and see Poppy, the most perfect little baby you will ever see.

 photo 63F49C9F-AF4F-4516-9A12-8F2AC096531C-4928-000001F6D0569B6F_zpsd2650b87.jpg

We met Mama Piper to pick up the boys and then headed to the grocery store to stock up on stuff to make wraps and pizza, plus we were out of booze. The kids were running crazy through the store and my blood pressure was through the roof by the time we got out of there. I honestly don't know how she does it. It was pretty close to nap time, we hadn't eaten yet, and there may have been a minor meltdown in the parking lot...

We got home and I promptly made wraps and adult beverages while Raven put the boys down for their naps.

 photo bobs2_zps017ec359.jpg

I have been obsessed with these things since I left Kennewick and have eaten my weight in them. So goooooooooood.

After naptime there was more playing, Pocoyo, screaming, crying for no reason, looking through photo album after photo album of Raven's ridiculous photo shoots (girl loves a camera...), jumping on the trampoline, taking a tour of their yacht boat, playing with the puppy, consuming cocktails (adults only), and bath time (kids only) before bedtime.

 photo portland27_zps27141001.jpg

Once we put the kids to bed, Raven made me one of her famous veggie pizzas on the traeger.

 photo 16888_3820362067972_1606182065_n_zps43e6fc96.jpg

Raven assumed her position in her chair, with her computer, and the puppy by her side while we drank, watched more amazing television, continued to pause the TV to have in-depth conversations about society, politics, relationships, blogging, etc., and stuff our faces with pizza until bedtime.

Like I said, domestic bliss!

Check back later this week for my final recap...our overnight in the fantasy suite Portland!

Breezy Goes North - A Match Made in Blog Heaven, Part 1

I am fully aware that this post is long overdue. I figured I owed it to everyone to get this one out there first and then I can do a catch-up post for all of the other happenings in my life.

In order to keep this from being the longest post in the history of blogger, I am splitting up my visit into a few different blogs. But first, a disclaimer.

 photo F346FF2D-473D-4CA8-ACC4-A1B7F9777DA6-4928-000001F6B765FD06_zps11733592.jpg

More than a year ago I found Raven's blog through a couple of other blogs that I follow. I have to be honest, at first I wasn't hooked. A mommy blogger that I probably didn't have anything in common with? No thanks. But, one day I read a guest post she did on another blog and I thought she was pretty funny, so I added her to my reader and gave it a shot. A couple of months later, I added her on FB, and one day I decided to say hi via chat. I didn't even introduce myself, I just jumped right into a conversation like we were already friends. Weird? Maybe. But who cares?

She had just posted the blog about her mom cutting her precious child's hair while she was away on a vacation with her husband so I just asked her if she had a heart attack when the pic came through on her phone. I won her over with my humor and wit.  A few hundred messages later, and we exchanged phone numbers. A few million messages, texts, and face time phone calls later, I purchased a plane ticket to go spend 4 days with her in Tri-Cities, Washington...

I never mentioned it on here before I left because I knew I would get some flack from my family and friends, especially those that don't blog. People who don't blog never understand. People who date online understand a little bit more. I liken it to a pen-pal. We all had those when we were little, whether they were in other states or other countries. The internet just makes things easier. If you think about it, when you very first meet someone, you don't know them at all. You don't know anything about them. Maybe you meet through mutual friends, but how well does your mutual friend know them? I mean, it's not like I went to visit her a week or two after "meeting her". It was a year-long courtship.  JB thought it was weird at first, but every night he saw me giggling and texting and would say, "How's Raven?" and would sometimes get jealous that I was texting her all night instead of hanging out with him.  He trusted my judgement and knew that if I thought it was fine, it was fine.

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, let's get down to business...

I think both of us were excited, but a little nervous to meet each other. I mean, what if she wasn't as awesome as I thought she was in text? When texting her about picking me up at the airport, I kept asking her if she was working on my billboard. I wanted something sparkly and bright that screamed my name at the airport so I would know where to find her. Her response? "Oh, you just wait..." I definitely didn't expect this:

 photo 4447E88F-662A-4B5E-834A-5D1F5BA26403-4928-000001F796BE1927_zps42e57f8c.jpg

As soon as I came down the escalator and saw the back of a chicken suit, I knew it was her. She was mad that I knew, but come on, who else would be cuckoo enough to wear a chicken suit at the airport? Besides that, I didn't see her anywhere and I knew she had been there for a while. When I walked up to her, there were people asking her to take her picture. She was pointing a camera at me like a freaking stalker, but wouldn't say anything. She wouldn't take off her chicken head until I threatened to hug her if she didn't reveal herself.

 photo chicken_zps9298154e.jpg

Since my free Southwest flight didn't fly into the airport closest to her house, I flew into Portland and we had a 3.5 hour drive to get through before we could even socially lubricate ourselves with a drink. The time seemed to fly by and before I knew it, we were at her sprawling mansion house with a drink in our hands.

 photo 59494_4173708541413_584315027_n_zps6a7fd27e.jpg

We had to take G-Man to school in the morning, so after saying hello to her handsome husband, Rob, and having a drink, we called it a night.

Check back on Wednesday for my recap of domestic life in Kennewick...

Century Club

11/27/2012
I cannot even believe it.  After almost three years of blogging, I hit 100 followers!!!  It's insane to me that there are 100 people out there, probably about 85 who I don't even know IRL, that read my sporadic ramblings and life updates.

I started this blog in March of 2009 when a lot of big changes were happening in my life.  Read my first post here.  I honestly don't even know how I got started on reading other people's blogs, but my subscription list was growing and I thought, "This would be a great way for me to chronicle my journey and let my family members in on what is going on in my life."  And so it began; Breezy In Bloom.

Since then I have experienced cohabitation, becoming a homeowner, getting engaged, becoming and auntie, getting married, and many other smaller milestones along the way.  I am so glad I started blogging so I can look back on these important life moments and remember how I was feeling at that time.

I also love the fact that I have "met" so many new people through this community.  People who don't blog never get it.  I try to explain it to them by comparing it to a pen pal, but they still look at me like I am crazy.  My husband thinks it's weird that Raven and I text non-stop all day and night, and that I talk about people like Erica, Shay, Steph, and Katie like they are people I actually "know".  People put their heart, soul, and lives out there for you in this community, so it's kind of like you do know them, even if you have never met face to face.

Over the past three years I have struggled with figuring out if I want this space to be more than just a journal for me.  I see a lot of blogs that do give aways and product reviews, and most of the time, I skip past them.  I don't think I will ever be a blog that has sponsors, but never say never, I guess.  I was always conflicted with wanting to grow my reader base and not wanting the responsibility of having to blog every day.  Somehow I got here without posting every day (sometimes only once a month), so I guess I will just keep doing what I am doing and see where it goes from here.

So welcome to all the new folks that have started visiting this little blog of mine!  You have re-energized my passion to keep updating my space here.  I still have a lot to learn about blogging, and it seems things change every day, but I'm gonna fake it 'til I make it and hopefully you stick around.  You can also follow me on Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.  You know, if you want to (you do).

Blogger 411 Link-Up!

Today I decided to link up with Becky over at From Mrs. to Mama with her Blogger 411 link-up. I have some new faces around here and I have been gone for a while, so this seemed like a great way to re-introduce myself. Here goes!

1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?
I started blogging in March of 2008.  A lot of big things were happening in my life and I really wanted to document them for friends and family who weren't on facebook.  I also enjoy writing, but I like typing more, so I saw this as a journal of sorts.  I'm pretty sure my blog has remained a lifestyle blog since day one.  I post about my ongoing fitness journey, life happenings, outings with friends and the hubs, etc.

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?
I did go to college.  A few of them, actually.  I started at the local junior college out of high school, American River.  I didn't see a reason to pay a bunch of money at a state school for the same classes I could get for $11 (yes, $11) per unit at a JC.  After doing my general education requirements and lower division business classes there, I hopped over to CSU, Sacramento to join a sorority finish up.  A couple of years after graduating, I decided to take advantage of my company's tuition reimbursement program and get my masters at Chapman University.  All of my studying was in Business Administration and Human Resources.

3. Where have you traveled?
Let's see...VEGAS, VEGAS, VEGAS!!  I have been there quite a bit.  I have been to Vancouver, Canada, Mexico, Western Caribbean, New York, Boston, up and down the California coast line, Germany, Italy, Kansas, Washington, D.C., Washington state, Oregon, Arizona, and probably some other places I am forgetting.  Some of those were for work, but most for leisure.

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
I would probably buy a large plot of land big enough to build houses on for most of my immediate family that could be spaced far enough apart that we wouldn't kill each other.  I would probably also buy a couple of vacation homes around the world :)

5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?
People that lack common sense, rude people, and my alarm clock.

6. What is your favorite movie?
This is one of those questions I am never quite able to answer.  I can narrow it to a specific type and say my favorite Disney movie is The Lion King (JTT what?).  But as far as the general collection of movies goes, I don't think I can narrow it down to just one.  I like RomComs, chick flicks, and suspense/thrillers, but I can't really watch scary movies anymore.

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
On any given evening I would take a glass of wine over beer just so I don't feel bloated.  Don't get me wrong, I would down any of the three if they were the only one available.  I think nights at home need wine, BBQs and water activities need beer, and nights out with friends need cocktails.  My go-to is usually a vodka/soda water with lime.  I don't drink soda (pop for you mid-westerners) or tea, so water is my go-to non-alcoholic beverage of choice.

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?
I enjoy trashy reality television, reading a good book, and maybe a mani/pedi or massage if it's in the budget.

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?
Oh man!  I am the worst shopper ever!!!  I would probably say Nordstrom's or something like that because I never shop there normally, but always want to.  Definitely a store that has everything under one roof.

10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.
6th grade camp.  We went on a night hike with our counselor and no flashlights.  When we got to this stopping point we check out all the cool stars and constellations and then our counselor paired us up and gave us each a wintergreen lifesaver candy.  He told us to face each other and chew them with our mouths open.  They started sparking and we all started cracking up.  I laughed so hard I peed my pants.  No joke.  I couldn't stop laughing and the fact that I pissed myself made me laugh even harder and I screamed out while laughing "I PEED MY PANTS!!!".  Pretty sure I got teased about that for the rest of the year.

11. What day would you love to relive again?
Wedding day, hands down.  That day was so awesome.  The one occasion where we had all of our friends in one room together drinking/dancing/singing.  So much love that day.  Can I please do it again?

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?
Hopefully Chelsea Handler.

13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?
My very first job at 15 years old was the front counter/daycare/janitor/collections person for a privately owned gym.  Later I left and went to another small gym where I was the front desk clerk.  I also did cold calling for some under the table cash for my friend's dad's insurance company.  After I graduated high school I stayed at the gym and then also started working as a courtesy clerk (grocery bagger) at Ralph's Supermarket.  I worked both of those for a while until I got a student assistant job with the state and then I worked there and for Ralph's.  At some point I quit Ralph's and was only working for the state until I got a job with a temp aganecy that paid me more and then I worked a job with Wells Fargo through the agency.  I left Wells Fargo for Docuware, a copier sales/service company, where I stayed until after I graduated college.  I can't believe I have been working for 15 years already.

14. Show us a picture from high school or college.
You will have to visit this post to see those :)  You won't regret it.

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
I really have to pick just one?  I think an over-water bungalow in Bora Bora would be high up on that list.  I would also like to visit some of JB's family in the Philippines and see much more of Germany and Rome.  And Ireland...see, this is hard.  I'l just do all of Europe, how's that?

16. Show us the most current picture of you or you, or your family, or anything of meaning to you.

My everything.  From left to right; SIL, bro, niece, step-mom, dad, me, JB, step-dad, mom, maternal grandma, step-paternal grandparents.

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?
We have talked about starting a family towards the end of the 5-year plan, but we will wait and see how we feel when we get there.  We hope to be more financially sound and still as much in love as we are today, if not more.  I hope to have reached the next level in my career as well.

That was a lot of information, so I can't blame you if you checked out half way through it.  If you are reading this, thanks for sticking around!  Be sure to link-up so I can get to know you too!

Wow...

Over half way through the year and I have 14 whole blog posts in 2012.  That, my friends, is sad.

For one, I want to know where the hell this year ran off to.  And second, why have I been so un-motivated to blog, read blogs, comment on blogs, and connect with the friends I was starting to make in the blogosphere?

I think one of the reasons is that when I changed my domain name, I stopped showing up in people's readers, no matter what I tried.  The fact that I was suddenly writing for basically no one to read didn't really give me the get-up-and-go to blog about life's happenings.

I would like to say I am ready to return, but I'm feeling a little non-committal.  Maybe I could write a post about our recent anniversary trip to Bodega Bay?  That would probably remind me that I never finished blogging our wedding photos OR our honeymoon pics.  You guys have absolutely no idea what we did on our honeymoon.  Well, aside from what I mentioned.  I'll have to think about that and get back to you...

Can you do me a favor?  If this showed up in your reader, can you please leave me a comment?  I swear I am not just whoring myself out for comments to feel special and get motivated to blog again, I would just really like to figure out if it shows up and if not, I want to figure out how to fix it.  I would love you bunches for it :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Well, only the people who haven't been on vacation all week.  Those people have had enough good times for the week.  Those of you that worked every day but 4th of July, YOU have a good weekend!

Don't forget to leave me a comment!  Thanks!

Just Another Manic Monday...

Whoooooaaaaa Whooooooaaaaaa!

First off, I want to say hello to all the new faces around here!  It is still crazy to me that people I don't know care so much about what I have to ramble about, but I love you all the same!  Apologies in advance for the less than riveting post you are about to read.  I hope you'll stick around after this...

I have been in a serious blogging funk lately.  In case you haven't noticed I get this super amped up motivation and post every day for a WHOLE WEEK and then nothing for like 2 weeks....or a month...

Whateva, whateva, I do what I want!

To be honest, I am just not feelin' it right now.  I finally let happen what I swore I wouldn't.  I got sucked in and let another blogger get me down.  I have also spent the past couple of weeks reading Christmas recaps and New Year's Resolutions and I barely had the energy to read them, let alone recap my own.  I'm just not feelin' it folks.  I love you all and want to read about your holidays, but since I only get to read like once a week, a thousand recaps and resolutions posts in a row were a bit redundant and overwhelming.  It's pretty obvious why I follow the blogs I do though, because they are all very similar :)

Tax season has begun so I worked all weekend.  Seriously ALL WEEKEND.  7 hours on Saturday and 8 hours on Sunday.  So today doesn't even really feel like a Monday.  I have the next couple of weekends off for various reasons, but I am pretty much working all but one weekend in February.  The good thing about a seasonal job is that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel so it doesn't really seem so bad.  Plus, I'm making that money, YA HEARD?  If you know anyone in the Sacramento, CA area that is looking for a tax professional, send them my way!

I know we only had our honeymoon 6 months ago, but I am seriously having vacation withdrawals.  I think it's because we did Europe instead of sitting on the beach with a drink in our hand getting couples massages.  I'm not really complaining about going to Europe, but I am itching for a paradise fix in a bad way!  It doesn't really help that everyone is posting about their winter vacations to tropical destinations and cruises.  It also doesn't help that I don't see anything like that in our near or distant future.  Booooooo!

I have worked out a handful of times since the end of October.  I went from working out 6 days a week, to working out like 6 times in 2 months.  I don't know what it is, but I need to get my mojo back.  I really enjoy being able to head straight home after work, but I don't like feeling like a fitness slacker.  I keep saying I am going to get up and go in the morning, but my get up and go won't get out of bed.  Bitch.

I don't do resolutions, but I do to-do lists, so here's mine:

  • Finish wedding and honeymoon recaps before June.  If we have a year to get Thank You cards out, we should have a year to get the recap posts up too.
  • Get my fitness mojo back.  Before I know it, it will be bathing suit season.  Luckily my eating habits haven't changed from when I was working out, so I am not packing on the pounds that winter usually brings.
  • Remember why I started blogging in the first place, which was to keep friends and family updated on my life and keep a log of memories and milestones.
  • Work harder to avoid comparing myself to others.  I can only control myself and my situation, so none of the other stuff matters.

I hope your year is off to a stellar start!!!  Maybe I should use it as a reset button for the ol' bloggy blog.  Let's see what 2012 brings!!

New Layout!

My blate with Mrs. Monologues was AMAZEBALLS!!  So much so that we have another one scheduled this weekend to go get some mani/pedi action.  Which reminds me, I need to call and make appointments for us...

Anywho...

So yeah, we were talking about regular stuff, but we also talked about blogging, obviously.  Later that night she told me that she was going to make me a new layout.  24 hours later, I got this!  I just love it.  SO PINK!  And I have been wanting social media buttons and a picture header for so long!  What a dream come true!

What do you beezies think of the new layout?

Also, don't forget to change my URL in your reader to http://www.breezyinbloom.com/.  2 Legit 2 Quit round here!

PS, if you are wondering where our awesome, rambling, 10 minute vlog is...it's still on her iPhone.  She is having issues getting it to youtube, so when it's live, you will know about it.  Because I know you are all DYING to see how ridiculous we are in the middle of a sushi restaurant after two glasses of wine.

The True Life: I'm a General Life BLogger

Today I'm linking up with Mrs. Monologues and Fabulous But Evil for their True Life series.  Each week for the next eight weeks they are hosting a link up for people to showcase their different blogs.  This is my first link up ever!!!

What kind of bogger am I, you ask? I'm a general life blogger.

I started blogging a couple of years ago as a way to keep an online journal of everything that was happening in my life and to be able to share it all with my friends and family.  Basically, if you know me in real life, I tell pretty funny stories.  I try to translate my humor and snark to this here blog, but I'm not sure it always works out in my favor.  The problem is, I'm lazy.  I have all these great ideas for blogs (mostly while driving) and then I never have the motivation to actually write them.

You know the dryer/sock monster?  That whole middle space where a billion socks without matches are floating around?  I think there is one with all my lost blogs in it.

So yeah, anyway.  I think my problem is that I am too wordy.  And I am totally Type A so if I sit down to start a blog, I can't just save it as a draft and come back to it later, so if I can't finish it in one sitting, it doesn't happen at all.  Sad face.  The other problem?  I am at a computer all day for work, then I have a 45 minute commute home, then I usually go to the gym.  By the time I get home, it's 8pm and I still have to shower and eat dinner and spend quality time with the hubs before bed time at 10pm.  This is why I can't read books at lightening speed like the rest of you or write blog posts consistently.

I just realized this post is supposed to be attracting new followers and you are probably all like, "WTF?  Why is this girl basically talking me out of reading her blog?"  Cuz I'm a winner, that's why.

So anyway, I started this online journal about my life and then I started reading and following other people's blogs and commenting on them and then people outside of those I knew started reading and following and I thought, "They like me!  They REALLY like me!", but then it became more pressure to post more often or be funnier or have more pictures and it's all kind of too much for me.  I have to remind myself on a daily basis that if people want to read it, so be it, but I am really doing this for me and the fam.  I have never done a giveaway, I don't have any buttons, I have never hosted a link up, this is my very first link up participation attempt, etc.

So, if you are a loyal reader, whether I know you or not, thank you!  I do take comments and advice to heart and your input does mean a lot.  I hope you stick around as I make my way out of this blogging rut.  Trying to figure out this whole wifey thing :)

Oh, and go link up with those sexy bitches too!

CALLING ALL GUEST BLOGGERS!!!

We leave for our honeymoon next Thursday and will be gone for two weeks!  I have been less than diligent on my blog lately, but I don't want it to sit lonely and abandoned for 2 weeks!  If you are interested in doing a guest post, shoot me an email.  I don't have a topic in mind, so you can write about any little thing your heart desires.

Holler at your girl!

Bad Blogger Friend!

I want to apologize to the people I follow, whether they follow me or not, for not commenting on your posts lately.  I try, I really do.  But Blogger keeps c-blocking me every time I try.  Some people's blogs I can comment on and others I can't, even though they are almost all blogger blogs.  I am pretty sure other people are having the same issues.  Does anyone know why this is happening or how long it will be until they fix this problem?  Is there a way around it?

In other news...

Completely exhausted from my bachelorette weekend!  Working on a post for y'all for tomorrow's Wedding Wednesday!  In the meantime, here's a little pic to whet your appetite

Stylish Blogger Alert!

To completely accept this award you have to do these four things...

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award.

2. Share 7 things about yourself.

3. Award 10-15 blogs you feel deserve the award.

4. Contact these bloggers and let them know about the award

I received this award almost two weeks ago from Ramona over at Bubbi and Boo, copied and pasted it in a new post to get back to later, and then forgot to get to it.  FAIL!

First, let me say that I am honored to receive such an award.  Part of me feels like I earned it with my new layout and recent improvements to the blog, but the other part of me thinks that it might be because I actually know Ramona in real life.  :)  Anyway, onto my sharing:
  1. I am terrified of bees, wasps, and mostly spiders (post coming soon!).
  2. All I have ever wanted to do for my birthday is have a pool party.  My birthday is on Christmas Day.  Yes, it sucks.  No, I can't have a half birthday because my brother's birthday is June 24th.
  3. Sitting still is not something that comes easily to me.  I am always on the go.  The longest period of time that I am in one place is M-F from 8-5.
  4. We have lived in our house for over a year and still have no backyard.  We probably won't be able to do this until next Spring...maybe.
  5. When using my "Next" button on my browser toolbar to read through my blogs, I always get sad when the Google message pops up that there are no more new posts.  Every single time, I do the Snooki whine, "Meeeeeehhhhhh!"
  6. I want to form a Bunco group, but fear is stopping me.  And lack of free time..but mostly fear.
  7. I get really excited to see I have new followers, and even more excited when they are people I don't know.
That's all for sharing time!  Now I get to pick 10 lucky bloggers to receive this award as well!  In no particular order, they are:
  1. Ashley from Oh Me!
  2. Erica Marie from Young and Fabulous
  3. Melissa from mrs.csunsweetie
  4. Kaitlin from Life of a Busy Wife
  5. Erin from Life of the Broke and Slightly Well Known
  6. Steph from Montessori Free Fall
  7. Regyna from The Shoe, The Owl, and The Monkey
  8. Monica from The Painted Pisces
  9. Mrs. Bear from Think Happy Thoughts
  10. Jaimi from Jaimi Lynn Photography
Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!  Go check these ladies out!
