You are supposed read it like Forrest Gump is saying it...anyway...
I guess I should say 'I will be running'. I just signed up for two different 5K runs a week apart. the kicker, one of them is the day after I return from Vegas. Should feel amazing. Maybe I will try not to completely wreck my body while we are there. I'm sure I won't be very successful. I haven't had a drop of alcohol since May 1st so I should be a cheap date.
Memorial Day is the No Excuses 5K. It's in Land Park. I am running with John and Melizzle and possibly Erykah and Angel. Verdict is still out on that one. The last (only) 5K I ran was the Folsom trail run at Negro Bar and it was TOUGH! So many inclines and uneven paths. My ankle was not happy with me when it was over. I still ran it in 35 minutes, but I was doing a lot more cardio back then. All I have been doing lately is boot camp and not a ton of cardio, so we will see how it goes.
On June 6th I am running an all women's 5K put on by Fleet Feet. I am running this one with my friend Ashlee and maybe K-Put. The proceeds benefit WEAVE, which I am a big fan of. The boot camp I have been attending will have a booth out there too, so be sure to stop by if you are going to be there.
Last night our trainer was trying to talk Melizzle and I into training for a half marathon, but that still seems way too ambitious. Today, while registering for the fleet feet race, I found this. The half marathon relay is done in teams of two and each person does exactly half, aka a quarter of a marathon. And it's not until October so we have some time to train. 6.55 miles seems much less scary than 13.1.
