CALLING ALL GUEST BLOGGERS!!!

We leave for our honeymoon next Thursday and will be gone for two weeks!  I have been less than diligent on my blog lately, but I don't want it to sit lonely and abandoned for 2 weeks!  If you are interested in doing a guest post, shoot me an email.  I don't have a topic in mind, so you can write about any little thing your heart desires.

Holler at your girl!

Wedding Wednesday: The Big Day!!

It came and went and now I have no idea what to focus my attention on.  LOL!  I could not have dreamt of a more perfect day.  I had this feeling that since everything went so well leading up to the wedding, there was a possibility that the wedding day itself could be an utter disaster.  I am so glad I was wrong!  All week people thought I was crazy for being at work the week leading up to the wedding.  All of my friends, family, and bridesmaids kept asking me how I was feeling.  I think they all thought I was this ticking time bomb.

I am happy to say that I had no Bridezilla moments and the most we ran behind all day was about 15-30 minutes.  The weather was a lovely 90 degrees.  The guests were covered by the arbor, but it was a little hot and sweaty for us and the bridal party.  JB and I really got a taste of how much fun it is to attend someone else's wedding rather than having your own.  I feel like we should have been paid for the day with all of the things we had to do and pics we had to take.  It was non-stop.  We definitely had a blast though.

We had our first look and pics scheduled at 3, but didn't get there until almost 3:30.  We were able to get some good shots of us and then the girls and guys separately before the ceremony started at 4:30.

Gotcha Bitch!
JB's friend officiated for us and everyone we talked to had the same thing to say about the ceremony, "I have never laughed so hard during a wedding!  That ceremony was so 'you guys'!"  After the ceremony ended, we got the family pics and pics of the entire bridal party, got the marriage license taken care of, and had our reception entrance by 5:45.  Right on schedule.

My awesome in-laws
We went right into our first dance after we walked into the ballroom.

After that we decided to work the room as food service was about to begin.  We had 8 tables of 10 people and were able to make it around to half of them before salads were out.  We went back to our sweetheart table and ate our salads and then worked the other half of the room while everyone awaited their entrees.  We finally made it back to our table and ate our dinner.  The food was DELICIOUS!  We had a minor snafu with the vendor meals.  Apparently every single person that RSVP'd showed up to our wedding, which is virtually unheard of, so they didn't have meals for the vendors (even though the coordinator told us not to worry about adding them to our final count, but that they would be taken care of).  I told them that if the vendors asked about meals, to order them something from the restaurant and put it on our card.  I still have no idea what happened with it.

As we were finishing up dinner, they got started with toasts.  JB's brother went first and totally rocked it.  He pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and unfolded it and read "My Best Man Speech, by Breezy B", then looked around and crumpled the paper and threw it behind him.  The whole room errupted in laughter!  He did a great job with the rest of his speech.  My MOH got up there and proceeded to tell the room how we met when I got in trouble in high school and then how she was with me when JB and I shared our first kiss in Vegas.  She shared a few other things as well.  Her words brought lots of laughter and quite a few tears.  They both did an amazing job!  Then my dad said a few words, which included, "I don't think some of us ever thought we would see this day..."  Thanks dad!  LOL!

After our toasts we had the father/daughter dance and then the mother/son dance.  Earlier in the day JB's brother asked me if they would be together or separate, but didn't tell me why he was asking.  When JB and his mom went up there for their dance to "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, the song that came on was something totally different..."Teach Me How To Dougie".  At first I thought the DJ messed up, but then JB's mom started getting down to it!!!!  We were all dying, especially JB.  NO ONE saw that coming!

Next, it was finally time to cut the cake!  As we were preparing to cut and feed each other cake, JB says to me, "Where do you want it?" and without realizing I was walking right into it, I replied, "In my mouth!"  Classic!

"IN MY MOUTH!"

Once we had the cake cutting done, we did one final dance with the entire bridal party and their dates and went right into open dancing.

JB and I with all the Pigeons

The reception ended at 9pm and some of us headed to the nearby casino where JB and I were staying to continue the party.  It truly was an awesome night, but it went by SO FAST!!!  We took Monday off of work and just lounged by the pool for a while before heading home to open gifts and talk about how blessed we were and how perfect our day was.  I returned to work yesterday to see that my photog had already posted a little teaser blog with a couple of pics.

I am DYING to see the rest of them!!!!  Luckily we leave for the honeymoon in a week and will be gone for two weeks, so by the time we get back, we should have some fun stuff to look at!  Thanks to everyone for all the congrats and well wishes here and on twitter.  Y'all make my day!

Best MIL EVER!!!

I was on FB today looking at some of the awesome pics she posted from the wedding (stay tuned for tomorrow's WW post!) and she popped up on FB chat with this little number:

"We want to welcome you to our family, we might be small in size(numbers) not the body. Ha! Ha! But we have so much love in our hearts for you. Thank you again for bringing sparkle to our son's eyes, for loving him and making him a very happy man. We love you."

My heart just melts.  Loving my new family.  So blessed.

Wedding...Thursday?

Major fail.  Like I don't have a good excuse for not posting yesterday?  I'm getting married in 3 DAYS!!!!

We we we so excited!

So, I couldn't let the last week before the wedding pass without a wedding update.  Of course it has to fall on my busiest week at work.  I haven't caught up on blogs or twitter in a week, so overwhelming to think about!  But here's what I have gotten done:
  • JB's mom sent someone to clean our house for the rehearsal dinner since we are hosting (I need a cleaning lady always!)
  • JB's mom also purchased all the beverages for the RD.  It's insane, she got the giant bottle of EVERYTHING we had on our list.  Booze for daaaaaaays.
  • I dropped off the signed contract and paid the balance due on the venue last night
  • We dropped of the centerpieces with the florist and paid the balance last night
  • I finished writing all my love notes to my BMs and JB took care of his for the guys
  • I picked up the table and chairs from my SIL to use for the RD
  • I've got everything that needs to go to the venue in a box in the office, ready to go
  • I am picking up my dress today!!!!
  • Dad's suits came in and one has already tried his on.  The other is going today.
  • confirmed with photog and videog and DJ arrival times and schedule
  • Day of schedule is ready to go
  • About a thousand other little things that I can't even think of right now
The one thing I am completely amazed by is the fact that I am not nervous or anxious.  Just really excited!!!  There is always all this hype about the week of the wedding and being so stressed and everyone at work keeps asking me why I am here if I am getting married on Sunday.  WTF am I going to do at home?  We have no out of town guests coming in, I don't have programs to fold or ribbons to tie on favors.  There is seriously nothing more I can be doing for Sunday except waiting.

Tomorrow morning I am getting my airbrush on and then working from home to take care of some errands and setting up for dinner.  Saturday we are doing mani/pedi day and picking up lunch for the BMs and getting my ring cleaned and packing my overnight bag for the wedding night hotel.  Other than that, I really don't have anything else to do.  Maybe it's my impeccable planning and organizational skills?  Maybe it's the simplicity of our wedding and lack of details to worry about.  Either way, I ain't complaining.

I'll see you all after the wedding!!!

Wedding Wednesday: Almost There!!!

That's how many days until I am a Mrs.!!!!  I can't even believe it!  I got my brows done yesterday, have my final hair appointment tomorrow, and made mani/pedi appointments for next Saturday!  I can't believe all of this is happening next week!  On one hand, it's only Wednesday, but on the other, I see all of my 10 days filling up so fast!!!  With Father's Day being this weekend it will be a challenge to get a lot done since we have a get together on Saturday with my step-dad's family and are possibly going to my dad's on Sunday.  Yikes!

Since I have been busy coordinating food and beverages for the rehearsal dinner (which we are having at our house), confirming arrival times and final payments with vendors, and trying to fit in everything I need to before next weekend, I didn't have time to come up with much of a post for you lovelies.  Luckily, my mom just sent me the pics she took with her phone from my shower, so you get a little part 2 on that from a few weeks ago:

Wedding Wednesday: Bachelorette Extravaganza!!

Before we get down to biznass, can I just freak out for a second about the fact that there are only 18 MORE DAYS until I am a married woman?!?!?!?!  Can't even stand it!

Disclaimer:  Long post with LOTS of pics, but well worth the time spent IMHO.

Okay, now, for the biznass...

As I mentioned on Friday, this past weekend was my bachelorette party.  Being the control freak that I am, I have been really hands off with my bridesmaids for the most part and only told them what I wanted to do for this weekend and they took it from there.  Very shocking for those that know me well.  I tried not to ask too many questions and let them run with it and boy did they ever.

After getting off work I headed to Kohl's to try to find something to wear for a couple of the events.  Nothing like last minute shopping.  I headed home to pack and headed to the casino (don't worry, it's only ten minutes from my house :))  JB's mom's friend gets a lot of things comped at the casino (read: has a gambling problem, lol) and was kind enough to get us a suite as well as an extra double room right across the hall for the weekend FOR FREE.  After trying to coordinate with one of my BMs and another friend on meeting at my house vs. meeting at the hotel, we just decided to all meet at the hotel.  JB had to go ahead of time to meet his mom's friend to get our keys and get shown where our rooms were so he could show me the lay of the land when I got there before he left me for the weekend.  While he was waiting for me, he won $100 playing black jack to give me for the weekend!!!

Best.Hubby.Ever.

So I get there and he is beyond excited to give me this $100 and then handed over all the room keys.  He walked me to the elevator and I stepped on assuming he was behind me when I hear him say, "alright, this is where I take off."  I was confused b this as I thought he was going to walk me up to the room and check it out with me, so I said, "Wait, let me get off the elevator!"  I gave him a proper goodbye and then headed upstairs assuming I was the first person there, excited to scope out the place.  As I open the door to the room I hear music playing and the BM and other friend I had been trying to coordinate with were already there and had decorated and set up the room!!!  SURPRISE!!

(Pin the lips on the dude, never even got played)

(Apparently this was JB's idea)

(My best friend for 3 days, and yes I will use this always and forever)

(Personalized bottle of Mejor Modern Luxury Tequila)

The rest of the girls filtered in and We had a couple of drinks and got ready to head to dinner.

We decided to just head down to the cafe to get a quick bite to eat since we were going out to dinner the next night as well.  After dinner we headed back up to the room to have some more free drinks before going out to the casino "club".  I use quotes because it's really a bar, but they have a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights.  We have the music up and are drinking and BSing and then there is a knock at the door.  I happen to be closest and look through the peep hole and see that it's security.  We aren't doing anything wrong, but I automatically go, "It's security, turn down the music!!!"  They are all yelling at me to answer the door.

Does anyone see where this is going, because up to this point, I really had no idea....

I answer the door and the guy says, "Breanne?  We have a problem with your car in the garage."  It clicks, and I roll my eyes and curse my friends.  I am dying laughing at this point.  I can't even describe in words how foul this whole situation was.  Luckily, I have plenty of pictures.

(Playing along)

(Please don't do that)

(So sweaty!!)

(Shit's about to get real)

(Enjoying my pain)

(What she thought she ordered)

(Oh no!!!)

(Double inverted tea bag slide)

(Now I need to shower)

(I really hope this is almost over)

Luckily my wonderful friends only paid for a 15 minute show (longest 15 minutes of my lifetime!).  Although, he did offer a private bedroom dance to which I not so politely declined.  I seriously felt like I needed to shower after he sweated all over me.  We referred to him as Dracula for the rest of the weekend.  My friend actually ordered me a sexual chocolate, but got a White Russian instead.  LMAO!  I told her to do a review on Yelp! but she wasn't okay with saying, "Um, I ordered a stripper and they totally sent the wrong flavor.  Two thumbs down."

After the show we headed down to the club to get our groove on.  On our way there, we ran into another Filipino who tried to steal me away from JB:

We proceeded to shake that ass all over the dancefloor.

(Someone's got a girlfriend!!)

We shut the place down and then did a little gambling before bed.  I doubled my $20 on a penny slot!!  The next morning I had a bit of a headache, but other than that felt fine.  I can't say the same for some of the other girls.  We took our time getting ready and lounging around drinking mimosas.  After looking out the window to see hail, we decided to leave our swimsuits in our suitcases and proceed with a little girl talk, a lot more mimosas, and even some gambling to pass the time before getting ready to head to dinner.

So awsome to have your own hairstylist come on vacation with you!  Love my MOH!!

We had dinner at the Asian fusion restaurant they have there in the casino.  I think it's one of those family style eating places, but we all just ordered our own dish.  It was pretty tasty!  A couple of other girls came out just for dinner and a little dancing, even my super prego friendy (she's due a week after my wedding).  She didn't stay long after dinner, but I was so glad she could come out for a bit.  There were a lot more crazy drinks and dancing that night.

(The old dudes were out in full effect!)

(Don't worry, I found some closer to our age group)

(This would be a cute pic if I didn't ruin it!)

(The MOH and I had a super dorky dance off)

(It was amazing.  I wish I had video.)

(And then there was this guy)

Homeboy came out of nowhere offering massages to me and the MOH after he saw us working up a sweat on the dance floor.  We were seriously dancing all over the place.  We.Are.Special.  As you can see from that last pic, I gave up on keeping the veil in place and just started using it as a headband to keep my sweaty hair out of my face.  We closed down the club once again and then were up talking until 4am.

Sunday morning I woke up feeling fine.  The hangover gods were seriously good to me.  I couldn't believe it, especially since I have been out of the game for so long.  We got up and got showered and met everyone downstairs to board the short bus to go winetasting.  Some of the girls brought snacks and beers and stuff to make mimosas and sandwiches.  The road up was pretty windy, so some people had to hold off on the drinking until we got to our first winery, but I think it's safe to say we all had a good time.

(One of the workers at the first winery wanted to show up the stripper)

Since they were making me drink mini bottles of booze in between wineries, this is pretty much the last part that's really clear in my mind.  I do know that I had an amazing weekend and am so blessed to have great friends.  My bridesmaids really went above and beyond my expectations and I am so grateful for them.  Well, except for the whole stripper thing.  I will definitely be getting them back for that.
